Welcome to 2008.
Already, this looks to be a good, solid, upbeat year. People are optimistic and energetic – at least the ones who’ve returned to work. Some lucky folks are still on vacation until next Monday. Good for you.
For those of you here right now, we’ve got lots of gifts for you this week. The Internet world is gearing up with training courses, goal-meeting assistance – and even tools to teach you how to blog. All of these folks are giving away their training. No, they’re not fools. And they’re not altruisitic. They know that when you succeed using their tools, they will share in your future stream of income. This is your chance to start 2008 by learning how to supplement your income online.
- The best blogging techniques.
- How to get traffic to your blog.
- How to turn your blog into money.
I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve had a chance to check it out. Meanwhile, go grab yours while it’s still free – and tell me what you think!
Oh, and if you need a no-cost, simple blogging tool to start with, try www.blogger.com . Google owns it and you know they never charge anything – except advertising.
Speaking of learning, today’s Money Funny is a lesson in
ecomonics – for dummies.
This week’s job advice tells you to take a break. Do you deserve it? https://go.asktaxmama.com/Ladders
Since we had a short week, we only published two TaxQuips.
One was about deducting a business computer. The other asked how to deal with the office in home deduction when you keep having losses. Read the comments, too. They are always the best part!
But IRS News if filled with interesting stuff. Read about the updated Air Transportation Excise Taxes, how to snitch on a friend for fun and profit and see the new form to update your Social Security account for employees who were paid as freelancers – AND be sure to read TaxMama’s notes on all those IRS announcements.
As always, we love your feedback, opinions and ideas. You are what makes all this fun – and intersting!
Please use the Comments link online.
Oh yes, and the 2008 Tax Calendar is online. Please feel free to link to it!
Have an untaxing, joyful and 2008.
Hugs from your favorite TaxNerd,

Zazzle – Cafe Press – Queensboro
Since it’s summer, and you’re probably going to be traveling with your family, consider getting matching T-shirts and/or hats.

But do put everyone’s picture – so even if you don’t know the local language, you can point to a family member and ask if anyone has seen him or her. Or use a graphic or piece of art you all like. You’ll find three options right here in our SPECIAL DEALS section.
