Ask Taxmama Issue 432 – From the Peanut Gallery

Dear Family,

Happy Peanut Butter Lovers Month. When was the last time you

enjoyed a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Lots of schools
around the country ban nuts from campus due to the morbid
danger for those who are deathly allergic to peanuts and nuts.

Speaking of deadly food, my history teacher in high school
told us that there was an assassination attempt on George

Washington – using tomatoes, perhaps because it’s a member
of the nightshade family.

If you read the history of tomatoes, they were introduced to

Europe (and Italy) by the Spaniards around the 16th or 17th
century. That was shortly after Marco Polo introduced noodles
from his trip to China. So, clearly, spaghetti marinara is a
relatively recent dish. Couldn’t have happened without
Columbus and Marco Polo.

Moving from poisons to disasters…
In this week’s TaxQuips, we learn about Federal Disaster
Unemployment Assistance, the value of an inheritance,
and all the ramifications for an author wanting to sell
her own books.

Our Money Funnies today is really a bit inspirational.
You may have seen this several years earlier. But this
version has a new twist.

IRS News tells you about a special weekly IRS
newsletter just for small businesses. And there’s
more information about the California Wildfire area
having been declared a Presidential Disaster Area,
along with extended dates to file reports and pay taxes.

Have an untaxing, unarachibutyrophobic week!

Hugs from your favorite TaxNerd,

But do put everyone’s picture – so even if you don’t know the local language, you can point to a family member and ask if anyone has seen him or her. Or use a graphic or piece of art you all like. You’ll find three options right here in our SPECIAL DEALS section.
