Ask Taxmama Issue 450 – Happy St. Patrick’s Weekend

Happy St. Patrick s Weekend

Dear Family,

31 days and 15 hours and 2 minutes to go until April 15th.
(Did you see the countdown widget at www.taxmama.com ?)

Headlines – Bear Stearns Bailout
https://www.marketwatch.com/

Lender bailouts – one-fifth of a trillion dollars!
https://baltimorechronicle.com/2008/031408Palast.shtml
CEOs score hundreds of millions in compensation
https://emac.blogs.foxbusiness.com/2008/03/09/final-thoughts-on-the-fat-cat-ceo-pay-hearing/
Teachers brace for massive layoffs
https://www.dailynews.com/news/ci_8507599

What I don’t understand is – why there always a bailout to
help the pirates and those who got fat and rich? Why not simply
insist that before any bailouts, those who grew rich due to
their marginally ethical business practices must deplete their

own funds to shore up their loans, businesses, etc.?

It’s not as is no one was watching. The LA Times was reporting
the huge salaries of Countrywide officers for several years.

And the Los Angeles Unified School District, always screaming

about a lack of funding for teachers and books wastes hundreds
of millions of dollars on junk – over 50 million on a payroll
computer system that doesn’t work, hundreds of millions on
poisoned properties they can’t use…even more on their entire
inventory of real estate not being used – or sold to generate

funds to cover programs.

And we sit idly by, being amused and entertained by this
profligate waste of our tax dollars – and the destruction of
our children’s education. Doesn’t that make you furious?

Not furious enough. I’ll bet your conversations today revolve
more around some politician’s sex expenses than on how to
stop the politicians who are financially bleeding our economy.

Fine, then I’ll just go focus on my own economy!

Let’s start with the good stuff. The first box arrived yesterday
containing The 100% Home-Based Business Tax Solution discs.
They are gorgeous! It’s really quite a rush when you are
responsible for producing something so tangible.

You should be getting your shipment of the Tax MiniMiser
and disc, by today – if you ordered the small set. The large
set ships on Monday. WOW! It’s so exciting.
You’re going to save so much money – and pull it out of the

tax pool so the politicians can’t spend it.

The Orientation for Solving the Tax Puzzle was recorded
and distributed yesterday. The first session will be recorded
tomorrow morning before we start meeting with clients.

We’re on our way to pick up all the puzzle pieces!

Yesterday, I also finished up the MarketWatch article about
a most bizarre way to pass along dependents – illegally.

There’s an interesting twist to help divorced parents.

Yesterday was a busy day!

IRS News is about tax credits – for retirement savings and

for fuel cell vehicles. Keep a good eye on your retirement
funds this month as the Stock Market yo-yo’s dramatically.

This week’s Money Funnies will make you smile – or offend

you – if you’re the kind of person who chooses to be offended.
https://taxquips.com/index.php?cat=MoneyFunnies

TaxQuips this week includes fair market values, appraisals,
education benefits, inheritances and collecting Social

Security based on your former spouse. LOTS of heated
discussions.

This week’s Job Advice is about avoiding clutter in your
resume. I’d love to avoid it in my office, too.

As always, we love your feedback, opinions and ideas.
You are what makes all this fun – and interesting!

Don’t forget to have a green beer this weekend!

Summer Family Identity – 3 Choices:

Zazzle – Cafe Press – Queensboro

Since it’s summer, and you’re probably going to be traveling with your family, consider getting matching T-shirts and/or hats.

(DO NOT PUT ANYONE’S NAME ON THEM – you’re just asking strangers to kidnap your children!)

But do put everyone’s picture – so even if you don’t know the local language, you can point to a family member and ask if anyone has seen him or her. Or use a graphic or piece of art you all like. You’ll find three options right here in our SPECIAL DEALS section.

Use your art or others – and customize it
