Dear Family,
Happy Presidents Day Weekend.
Monday is the hybrid day that is neither Washington’s Birthday nor Lincoln’s – just a Monday, giving us a long weekend. Federal and State offices and schools will be closed. We will be too (since TaxPapa works for the School District).
Traffic on the roads will not be moving today, as people take off for the long weekend. So plan your local jaunts carefully and check traffic reports before traveling.

For those of you who used to know all the presidents, or you’re heading for a game show, or you want to keep your children from asking, yet again, “are we there yet?” – here’s a link to all the presidents of the United States. Print out the information. Give a copy of each of your vehicle-mates. And create trivia games. Find an interesting fact. Ask a question – and see who can find it in the pages you’ve given them.

For instance which president was “was so honest that if you turned his soul inside out there would not be a spot on it”?
(Don’t peek, but the answer is somewhere in today’s newsletter.)
Give up? See the Resource Box below.
Incidentally, if you click on the Happy Presidents Day graphic above, you’ll find a link to an interesting book on civility by George Washington.

IRS News includes TaxMama’s annual Online Filing Article.
You’ll learn about non-taxable income. And Stimulus.
Once President Bush signed the Stimulus Package, IRS jumped right in with information. Please read the ENTIRE article in today’s TaxQuips, where IRS explains how things are going to work. Please, do not ask me any questions until AFTER you have read the whole article. Any questions that come to me that are answered in the article – I will ignore. IRS has provided the answers.
Incidentally, did you know that many of IRS’s Tax Tips this season include the mellifluous voice of Theresa Branscombe, dubbed the voice of IRS by TaxMama? IRS recently added this feature with Theresa interviewing folks at IRS to explain more about the printed information in the article. Quite illuminating – and brief.
