Do you find yourself getting frustrated with some particularly confusing IRS form, letter, or policy?
Did you know that you may have the power to change it?
You do.
IRS has a special procedure called the IMRS (Issue Management Resolution System).
You can submit a note about the problem you encountered with a form, system, a procedure, staff behavior – and suggest a way to fix it, correct it, or improve it.
All reasonable suggestions or questions will be considered.
Note: You can’t use this system to request an appeal on a bad audit or anything specific like that. This is for problems with the system – not your own tax retun. Sorry.
Incidentally, you can see IRS’s current Hot Issues.
You can also look up the issues IMRS has tackled – and how they were resolved – all the way back to 2006.
