Next week, folks who are young at heart and have a sense of fun, get to enjoy Halloween. But if you want to celebrate early, you might do something like the folks in Independence, Kansas have been doing – celebrating Neewollah (that’s Halloween backwards). See if there is a Neewollah celebration in your area – or start one!
Incidentally, when Halloween comes around next week, consider this as goodies to give away. The books you’ve read throughout the year that are piling up all over your house. It seems many libraries just toss them when you donate paperbacks. But Trick-or-Treaters and their parents will love your treat. (We’ve tested this with tiny children and big ones, giving them a choice of candy or books. Most, even the tiniest, chose the books. Of course, then we also gave them chocolates.)
In IRS News we learn about the some recommendations the IRS’ IRPAC committee has made about making our lives easier when it comes to filing reports about third party income (like a variety of 1099s, etc.). We also get a warning from the IRS https://taxmama.wpengine.com/asktaxmama/dont-fall-for-phony-irs-websites/about new phishing sites that look much like the official IRS.gov site – but is something to avoid like the plague.
