» Social Security Numbers -

One of the more common questions I am starting to get is "How do I get a Social Security Number for my baby?" Why they are not taking care of this at the hospital, I haven't a clue. But, here you go.

You will need to fill out Form SS-5 to the SS number. Before you start to fill out that form, here's the material you'll need to gather - and info on where to send the forms. Social Security Card Instructions.
And in case you need to go to an SS office in person - your nearest SSA office.
