» Share the Power

If you, or someone you know is abused or feels totally powerless, you may qualify for a scholarship for self-defense training in your local area.

Drop a note to Dr. Judy at www.sharethepower.com. She has funds for you.

My generous and awe-inspiring cousin, Dr. Judy, is providing the funds for people who need to learn to stand up against members of their own family.

Incidentally, if you feel the power? Feel free to chip and help her offer self-reliance to many more of those who need the support.

The Jeremiah Society asks "Who Will Care for the Children?"

"A child born with Downs Syndrome in 1949 had a 9-year life expectancy, today the life expectancy reaches to senior citizen status." From Al Tompkins' Morning Meeting

Today, many of these people outlive their parents. And therein lies the problem. Once their loving caregivers are gone, who will care for them? And will they be able to care for themselves?

The Jeremiah Society, is working to help enhance and enrich the lives of developmentaly disabled teens and adults in the Jewish Community Please Call Rose Lacher, (714) 997-8193, or visit their Website.

A.N.G.E.L.S. D.A.Y

Our fledgling organization to help seniors keep their pets, is proud to announce that in the past year, we have helped dozens of seniors provide food, supplies and veterinary care for their pets. Without A.N.G.E.L.S. D.A.Y., paying for operations AND the kindness of many of the vets who worked at a discount, many of these seniors would have lost their closest companions. In the last 18 months, we supplied nearly $9,000 to seniors. This year, we'd like to double that. Please help.

We've got some really FUN fundraising events planned. ** They have the cutest beanie pets - dogs and cats ** Please call Linda to order one at (310) 680-0798.

Give blood. It may save your own life. Here's a story from a friend in Australia whose father just died:

The hospital believes he was one of the longest leukemia survivors in the country (41 years). For those of you who don't know the story. He went to give a regular blood donation in January 1961 & they found something had gone wrong. The actual act of being a blood donor saved his life. In that era, by the time he would have felt sick it would have been too late. So if you are not already a blood donor I'd love to encourage you to become one. Donate at your local Red Cross.

Diane Gray sent this - If you've got a moment:

Let this be your other good deed for today... it only takes a second. Go to this site http://www.thebreastcancersite.com

All you do is click a button and a woman somewhere gets a free mammogram at no cost to you.

It is paid for by corporate sponsors (who gain advertising in the process because you see their logo.) All you do is go to the site and click on the "donate a free Mamo" (pink) button.

It takes one-second. However, you're only allowed one donation so pass the word. Just Do It...it's easy!
