Ask TaxMama Issue 597 Happy Easter and Passover Weekend

Happy Passover and Easter

Dear Family,

Happy Passover and Easter weekend!

I hope those of you who went to Seders enjoyed yours as much as I did. We all gathered at my brother’s house – while his son’s held their own Seders with their clans. But the grandsons all dropped by to pay their respects after the synagogue services before heading to their homes. We asked lots of questions and had some good, healthy arguments – and finished up around one a.m.!

So you can understand why this week was a little fuzzy for me…what with getting up late and all. I am behind on important columns, like the AccountingWeb.com Blog and MoneyMindedMoms.com. But I’ll catch up after vacation – first week of May!

Meanwhile, if you want to put a Spring in Your Step, there’s a charming article at AccountingWeb.com for you. And the Money Minded Moms can help you cut down on your gasoline expenses. That’s important!

The nice thing about Easter dinners coming up is, they end much earlier in the day. This should be a wonderful weekend to have the family over outdoors. At least in California! Elsewhere in the country, you are contending with the aftermath of some devastating weather. I hope it all settles down for the weekend. Have a lovely time with your family!

Where DO mornings go? I’ve spent the morning fielding so many questions from people who want to take the IRS’ Enrolled Agent’s Exam, that I finally just put up a page to point folks in the right direction. That’s going to be important, especially since I’ll be on vacation next week. We wouldn’t want Lulu to get too overwhelmed with questions, would we?

We had a good time at the orientation session earlier this week. If you want to see how it went, just drop by Everything you Ever Wanted to Know about the EA Exam.

Small Business Taxes Made Easy

The new, award-winning Small Business Taxes Made Easy is getting lots of attention.  Professor Eutsler just reviewed the book and articulated exactly what I was trying to do with it. “Eva has a unique ability to not only explain “what” and “how” questions, but also “why”. Answering “why is important for students because it gives them the reason for taking action. As an entrepreneur, you often face time crunches, the bigger the why you have, the more likely you are to get it done.”

No one wants to just do something because you tell them to. They want to know “WHY?” The book is about the “why” and, then about “how” to achieve your goals.
