Deadlines Looming October 31, 2004 Payroll and Sales Tax Quarterlies December 31, 2004 Last day to open KEOGH for 2004 December 31, 2004 Last day for charitable contributions for 2004 Dear Family, We're getting close to election day. I just couldn't help nagging you about participating (see below). Yesterday, a friend called and started walking through the propositions on the California ballot, asking my opinion. I wasn't ready with answers. But, by next week, I will read them and be ready to discuss them with her. Southern California just went through a week of heavy rain and floods and people being trapped in their homes. Have you noticed how strange the weather has been getting all over? The hurricanes and sleepy volcanoes suddenly waking up and smoking, and more intense heat and rain and... Now don't rush off and yell global warming. Sure, it may be that. And it may be caused by humans. But, remember, even before there were humans, or technology, the Earth had shifting weather patterns and ice ages and high temperatures and fire and hail and smoke. Whatever it is, we're in for a bumpy ride, my friends. As to tax deadlines... we have another quarterly deadline coming up at the end of this month. But this is a really good time to start looking over your tax returns to see if you need to file any amended returns and get refunds back for things you overlooked in your hurry to file on time. It's a great time to look at whether or not you should fund your IRAs and other retirment accounts. Oh heck, this is a great time to call your Tax Pro and do some planning. Call your attorney and prepare a will or living trust. Take care of the odds and ends you haven't been getting around to do. The year will be ending sooner than you think. Have a great weekend - and do something fun you've never tried before....or read the election booklets. ;~) Eva Rosenberg, EA Your TaxMama is watching...out for you. P.S.
