Dear Family,

Sitting here, composing this newsletter, trying to keep my eyes open because I am so tired, I am humbled.

Looking for today's holiday, I find that it's the anniversary of the day George Washington established the Purple Heart medal to be awarded to soldiers who were wounded or killed in combat.

With all the news of deaths, whether on 'our' side or 'their' side, this past week ... sigh, I'm feeling pretty lucky to have this much to do, in the safety and comfort of my own home.

If you're feeling a bit grateful, you might want to look around your own town and find the local USO post.

Remember them from all the World War II movies?

Well, they're still around - still helping our troops and making their transitions and stays away from home bearable. Perhaps they can use your help.

Or you are welcome to send a care package, even to soldiers you don't know. Incidentally, did I tell you about Books for Soldiers.com, didn't I? Just checking!

And speaking of focus, I really want to thank all of you who wrote to me about your ways to keep your focus. Your comments and ideas are included in this issue.

Hugs to all.
