Well, today was one of those days. Early on ... 6-ish, I decided to just kick back, relax and soak in a nice luxurious bubble bath (yeah, you know one of my favorite vices) and started reading an old Travis McGee book, from the collection my friend Claire sent me. I got absorbed in The Girl in Plain Brown Wrapper They're really pretty short books. A couple of hundred pages - kind of like that e-book of Bryan Knight's Deadly Therapy - But, somehow ... next time I looked up ... Definitely great escapist literature. And I did, indeed need a break. The week has been intense, with the IRS exam review class starting. The students, the instructor - Lucie Sample from San Diego, and my amazingly patient webmistress - Serenata, all worked diligently to get the lessons and homework and data learned and taught and researched and posted. This is a wonderful team of students. Not that I didn't expect it, but, we are working online without ever meeting face-to-face, so you can imagine how hard it must be for everyone. Yet, each student has wonderful suggestions and ideas to contribut to making the class run smoothly - and we're all making friends. I stopped teaching this EA exam review class several years ago because it IS so much work. But getting back into it again reminds me why I did it in the first place - the people. I just love the people. This is one small part of the world where people with diverse backgrounds and locations get along well - and treat each other well. All the previous classes were filled with terrific people, too. That's why I kept doing it all those years - for the entire summer. So many of the previous students are still in touch, still my friends. So, here's to all you EAs from all the old classes, and all the old places ... thanks for all the great memories - and the new ones to come. IRS News in today's issue is really exciting. You may not think so. But when you read it, you may understand the cumbersom stone age system IRS has been using all these years. I am really looking forward to the speeded up help and accuracy this should provide .... though none of us will be thrilled when IRS gets better or faster at catching our errors. Oh well, every silver lining has a cloud ... Hugs to all. Eva Rosenberg, EA Your TaxMama is watching ... out for you. P.S. Remember, TaxMama's Secrets is now available on CD. P.S.S.
