Dear Family,

Thanks for all your end of season notes and comments. It's encouraging to see you all doing so well - and getting rested.

My niece called the other day and, chatting, she wanted to know what I was up to. (Uh, it's all here folks. My life is an open book.) Although she reads Ask TaxMama faithfully, she didnt' realize that all the references and links to those CBS.MarketWatch.com tax columns were the ones I was writing. So, in case you weren't clear either - yes. That's why I keep sending you there. They've given me the opportunity to develop my own stories and dig more deeply than their tax overview articles - and to find the flaws and opportunties in the tax system.

If you follow the M/W links on TaxMama.com or just go there and head over to their tax section, you will find tax information that you won't find anywhere else in the news.

In addition, they have some of the best journalists providing a steady stream of tax articles for their tax department. So, aside from my ideas, you'll get excellent information and perspectives from Andrea Coombes, Kay Bell, Paul Merrimen, Marshall Loeb, and others.

Yes, as someone pointed out, you do need to join. But it is free. Annoying? But they have to give their advertisers some value for their money. Being able to prove membership numbers helps keep such services free for you.

After last week's issue, one very important question came up - where did I get the lilac and aloe bubble bath. Lest you waste away trying in vain to find this luxurious froth, let me reveal the secret. You either mix lilac and aloe - or you simply get aloe bubble bath (easy to find, even in generic version) and add lilac scent.

If those scents don't appeal to you, create your own fragrance. Have one custom designed for you, even, the folks at Reflect will do it for you.

Oh, speaking of indulgence - Baskin Robbins is giving away free ice cream. Really. Next Wednesday It's part of their annual Sweet Way to Literacy Program. Please do drop in at just about any shop and join the fun.

Indluging myself, next week, you won't be getting an issue. I've tried really hard to keep up with everything and still get the book written. But, it's just not happening. Waaaaaayyyy too many interruptions - and people with tax and collections problems who keep themselves out of contact, and try to avoid their problems (what, you think IRS is just going to wait for you to get your head together. No, friends - they lose patience - they LEVY). So, next week I am going completely dark. No phone calls, no responses to questions - nothing. Just the book. Please understand, this deadline is important to me.

Have a great couple of weeks. I'll miss you.
