From Westland, MI  To close any corporation, you have to dissolve it according to your state's rules for corporate dissolution. Also, on the final returns, check the box for 'final return' on both the IRS and the State copies. Be very careful when you do this - you need to spell out how all assets and liabilities are distributed to the shareholders. Frankly, even most tax pros don't know how to do this properly (and they'll admit it). Go to someone who has experience dissolving corporations in your own state. Best wishes, Eva Rosenberg |
