Deadlines Looming

Happy Birthday Laura Bushline

Dear Family,

Daylight savings time is always fun. After being sure to alert you last week, we forgot to change all our clocks and watches on Sunday. And I rushed around to finish things and get to my mom's house in time... only to learn, I arrived over an hour earlier than expected. My mother is still chuckling over that.

Of course, now, there's that clock in the car. Have you ever noticed it takes months to figure out how to change it on the newer, high-tech models? By the time you finally remember how, it's nearly time to change it back. (Same with re-setting radio stations after your car's been serviced and they've had to turn off the power for whatever reason...where's an 8-year-old when you need one?!)

Did you read about Thomas Huckaby in the Wall Street Journal? He telecommutes from Tennessee to NY. Read "NY Grabs Money From Man in Tennessee". You'll be furious. Well, I was...

Then, there's IRS new generous take on nonresident aliens' withholding - see IRS News.

And we've got a wonderful chicken recipe from my friend up north.

In this week's TaxQuips section, I reveal how I learned to dramatically improve the sound quality of the broadcasts in less than an hour.

And we're going to have lots more great stuff coming up soon. November is a good month for catching up. Without tax deadlines, this is a great time for planning, cleaning closets and files...and doing all those things you've set aside to get to - like shredding the mounds of 'offers' you've gotten all year.

Time to go...lots more to do before the next call.

Best wishes,
Eva Rosenberg, EA
