Dear Family,

Great news! TaxMama now has a permanent classroom on the Internet. Yes, it is accessible if you use a Mac. We just tested it last night in our EA Exam Review Class - and boy are there features we haven't even begun to tap. (Some we never will - like the live webcam.)

Now that it's ready, I've set up a sign-up page for the next webinar in September when we interview The Freemans. These are the folks who produce the Friendly Haven newsletter.

You'll find their story of how they ended up back on the land, while everyone else is moving to the big city, quite interesting. You could bring your life back into balance, too. (Me too, I'm working on it...)

There are other interesting things going on in our world. For instance, have you ever heard of a fuel bank? What a great idea!

The First Fuel Bank in Minnesota lets you operate your own personal commodities market. Buy fuel low. Use it when the price is high. We should have this in California, New York and other places with lots of commuters.

Social Security turned 70 this week. It was signed into law by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Today, it's quite controversial. The average monthly benefit is $929...you can't really live on that, can you?

So I am counting on you to do some intelligent planning for your own future. Don't live your life expecting to have Social Security there to support you in old age. Create your own wealth.

Sit down with your favorite financial planner, Enrolled Agent, CPA or savvy money maven.

Your assignment this week, should you care to accept it, is to work out personal budget that lets you set aside some savings. We'll deal with what to do with it, once you know you've got money set aside.

Have a lovely week!

Best wishes,
Eva Rosenberg, EA
