Dear Family,

You'll be happy to know that IRS is finally putting some serious energy into investing disreputable non-profit organizations.

Their major target include the credit counseling companies who set themselves up as non-profits and take your money - but provide you with no legitimate service. You watch. Within the next two years, you'll see a lot of phony ones disappear. Which make it much easier to find a legitimate service that actually can help you.

Another aspect of this enforcement program is to finally investigate the compensation that executives of charities are receiving. No doubt these guys work really hard to do the good things their agencies do - but is it really appropriate for the head of charity to receive salaries in the millions? Frankly, as a charity, it's obscene if it's paying anyone even half a million dollars. But, hey, we all have different ideas about how what's a reasonable living wage.

Lots more news from there. You'll be reading about in the next couple of weeks. It was just nice to see old friends.

Speaking of friends...and family. This weekend is my friend Terri's 50th birthday. It's going to be quite a bash, country club and all. While across town, my mother fends of invitations from all her children and grandchildren to fete her birthday. She is just glorying in all the attention. I love to hear people being happy. Don't you?

Best wishes,
Eva Rosenberg, EA
