Deadlines Looming

MAY 2005 - NO DEADLINES - time to breathe easy!

line

Dear Family,

This coming week is Buckle Up America! Week. And I am alerting you a little early for good reason. It seems that in various places around the country, the Highway Patrol and police departments may be starting to celebrate early.

As we were getting off the shuttle bus in Sacramento airport at the rental car terminal on Monday, the driver warned us to use our seatbelts. He'd gotten a $90 ticket, driving out of the gas station on his way to work that morning.

Are seatbelts a good idea? Not always, true. Sometimes, for instance, in a driver side impact, having a seatbelt on might kill you. But for most accidents, odds are, that the seatbelt will save your life. Besides, putting it around your child may be the only way to keep your darling from squirming and climbing around all over the car.

This week's free workshop about paying taxes online was terrific. We had an enthusiastic turnout - from as far away as Wales. Many of you seem to working, or in court, or doing important things during the day. So, in response to your notes wishing you could come, we're recording the sessions from now on.

You can listen to this week's EFTPS session by clicking on the pink hearts on this page

Drop by the site during the week. I'll be adding audio to some of the pages to help guide you on how to use the resources.

Did you know that there are thousands of articles or answers to tax questions on TaxMama.com? And even with the great Google search engine on the site, sometimes it's still hard to know where to start, or if there's a faster way to start looking for the information you need.

So, I'm going to make it just a little easier by trying to talk you through some of the confusion. You'll see what I mean...starting Monday, you'll find a message on the home page...and maybe the IRS News page - those are my two starting points when I use the site. Come on back to find out why.

Time to go...we'll have more tips, discounts and surprises for you next week.

Best wishes,
Eva Rosenberg, EA
