MAY 2005 - NO DEADLINES - time to breathe easy! Remember - you can use EFTPS to make the payments! Taxmama's Quick Links to Online Filing Dear Family, Two really interesting things crossed my desk yesterday morning. The first thing was a note from my friends at IRS about the release of their new Small Business CD - you'll find links to it in the IRS News section. The other just ate up time, like crazy. But, what a kick! I was invited to be an online juror to decide the financial fate of a man who fell down and broke his elbow at a carwash. At first I thought this is totally silly. Just more spam - toss it out. Looking more closely, it came from a site I had subscribed to, so I went to explore. Read today's article - Legal Beagle Oh yes, did you read about that airplane at the Capitol this week? When I heard about it, I searched through several articles trying to find the whole story. None of the explanations made sense. And the comment by the spokesperson for the 121st Squadron was shocking - at least to me. What do you think? For some reason, this week, I suddenly received a whole flurry of questions about tax bankruptcy. I don't know why now...or if one of my old articles surfaced somewhere. But, it's worth addressing. So, I've included an outline of what it is, who qualifies and how it works. Read - Tax Banruptcy. News Alert: This may affect your life. The Pentagon is announcing base closings around the country today. The list of bases to be closed will be posted here: http://www.defenselink.mil/brac Good news though, Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense, said that only the half the expected number of bases are affected - only 5% - 10%, instead of the 10% to 20% that's been predicted by the press. And speaking of good news, my buddy Michael Angier from SuccessNet just wrote an upbeat new book you're going to like. Even the title makes you fee good. Michael has been smart enough to make it available in print and in e-book form. More good news! (Can you handle so much great news?) Audio is here. You know I keep looking for effective ways to make the tax experience easier. Well, for some people, reading doesn't cut it. Hearing does. So, next month, I am launching a series of morning audio e-mails. You'll get to hear a Tax Quip or TaxMama's Tidbit every day, when you wake up. http://www.TaxMama.com/taxquips/daily You won't have to download anything. You won't have to do anything special. Just receive the e-mail and click on the link to play it! AND, you can call in comments that we can hear, as well. So the communication will go both ways. Please, drop by and listen to the first sample. http://www.TaxMama.com/taxquips Oh, and tell me which you like better - TaxQuips or TaxMama's Tidbits? Please, vote here: So, on to today's issue! Have a lovely weekend...and don't walk under any ladders today. That's not smart, anyway. Best wishes, Best wishes, President Bush and Social Security
