» From: Weirton, WV Dear TaxMama: I've actually paid my taxes in West Virginia, but never filed a state tax return. I probably am due more taxes as a refund than I owe. How can I find out the status and if I'm due a refund? Dell ![]() Hi Dell, Uh, let me guess ... have you ever thought of FILING a tax return? There's only ONE way. Prepare those tax returns and see if you have a refund coming. If you do, file the returns. You can only collect refunds for up to 3 years after the due date in most states. I don't know what West Virginia's rules are. But if you call them, they'll tell you. If you owe ... file the returns. The penalties will be lower, the sonner you file. Good luck! Best wishes, Eva Rosenberg Your TaxMama |
