LLC in Arrears?
line

» From: Denver, CO

Dear TaxMama:

I just got a form letter from the IRS asking why I have not filed a form 1120. I have had an LLC for four years and declare all income and expenses through my personal tax return on Schedule C.

Am I missing something?

Jeff

TaxMama Replies

Hi Jeff,

Did you ever TELL IRS you were doing that?

Oh! that!

You needed to file Form 8832

Check box c on question 2 and the first box on question 1

Print it out. Fill it out. And attach it to your response to the IRS letter.

Add a cover sheet saying that you were filing on Schedule C - and be SURE that you are using the right employer identification number on your Schedule C.

I'll bet it's wrong. Off by a digit? Transposed? Something's off. Otherwise, IRS would have cross- referenced your Schedule C by now.

Best wishes,

Eva Rosenberg
