» From: Laurel, MD Dear TaxMama: We bought a condo for our small business. What are the deductions that we can write off? Willie ![]() Hi Willie, Congratulations! Your small business has its own condo? Then you can write everything off! Oh, you mean, you're living in it and you're running a small business there, too? Aaahhh. That's different. You can write a share of the mortgage interest, property taxes, insurance, association dues PLUS all the things you spend money on specifically for the business office. You'll find some notes about expenses here. Lots more if you do a search for "home office" or 8829 (the form number for office in home). There's a really detailed chapter in the new book, describing all the things you can deduct, should deduct, and how to get the maximum benefit, without getting in trouble. (see chapter 7 when you get the book) There are some good tips about it in this free teleconference about tax tips and organization tools for small and Internet businesses - just download it and listen. Best wishes, Eva Rosenberg Your TaxMama |
