» From: Out There Dear TaxMama: I just started an internship with Pfizer in New York this week. I am a resident of Florida. Should I put my temporary New York address or my Florida address on my W4. If I put my Florida address, how will this affect how much tax is taken from my check? Betty P.S. I don't know if you do this, but I would not like my email address to be shared with any third parties or subject to any mailing lists. ![]() Dear Betty, Congratulations. It's a wonderful opportunity. Use your Florida address on the W-4, it won't really affect anything, since Florida doesn't have a state income tax. However, when they send out W-2s in January, or any other correspondence, you'll be sure to get it, right? You won't need it forwarded from NY. As to your P.S.: "I don't know if you do this, but I would not like my email address to be shared with any third parties or subject to any mailing lists." Uh, Betty, I feel exactly the same way as you do. So, don't worry, it won't ever happen from here. And for whatever it's worth, we have a link to our Privacy Policy from each and every page of the site. Good luck in your new internship. Best wishes, Eva Rosenberg Your TaxMama |
