Investor Meeting

» From: Berkeley, CA

Hi Eva - Thanks for taking the time.

I want to know if the cost of attending an investor meeting (annual corporate meeting), is a legitimate tax deduction.

Gratefully,

Elaine

TaxMama Replies

Hi Elaine,

I was going to look that up, but Lucie covered that in last night's class.

The answer is no. It's specifically spelled out in Publication 17.

However, I if you have a controlling interest in the company ... that would be different.

Sorry.

Best wishes,

Eva Rosenberg
