Dear Family,

THE BOOK is finally done. It is in the hands of my editor, returning to me, periodically, for surprisingly minor revisions or clarifications.

It's official, Small Business Taxes Made Easy is due out from McGraw-Hill in November 2004. When it comes out, you're going to love it!

Now that I can leave the house again, it's time to work on my appearance. You can see I was thinking about that a couple of weeks ago, fantasizing about going outside again. That's why I gathered all the good fat shops and their discounts together in one place - so I could get clothes. I've been getting the greatest stuff out of these catalogs for years. The Caterine's near me doesn't have everything I need - and I hate shopping in malls, where the other fat shops are.

And just as I decided that I am ready to go outside again, I got the most amusing offer - I've just got to pass this on to you.

Diet patches - appetite suppresants Skin tanning towels - no sun lamp. They're giving away samples until Monday only.

What a kick! You've just got to order them while they're still giving them away. Then, once you get them, take them to you doctor and get permission to use them. Whatever you do, don't JUST use them without medical supervision, OK?

Well, my friends, I am taking the weekend off. The first one that I can remember this year. Next week, it's back to doing tax returns. And returning phone calls. And responding to e-mails.

Gee it will be great to rejoin the human race. Even if that family no longer includes Ronald Reagan or Ray Charles. Eerie, both starting with R. And if bad news comes in threes, who do you think will be the next celebrity to die? And will their name start with an R, too?

Oh, yes, if you've got kids home for the summer, get them out of the house - TaxMama's Career Center has both internship and job openings in accounting, finance and banking fields.
