Thursday morning, Mary Korzan called me from Granger, Indiana. You don't recognize the name, do you? Neither did I. But you will. Mary found an inspirational poem on the TaxMama site, called "When You Thought I Wasn't Looking ..." You remember how it touched you when I ran it before the 4th of July weekend last year. Well, Mary wrote it. And the poem has a wonderful story behind it. In fact, two. The first part of the story is about her writing this for to honor her mother, on Mary's wedding day in 1980. But the rest of the story is about how the poem found wings, and managed to insert itself into several books and touch lives across the years. It's a wonderful tale of love and coincidences. You'll want to visit her site to read the story. Coincidentally, Mary has been kind enough to let me keep the piece on TaxMama.com - but she's also given me the correct wording. I've updated the poem on the site ... and included the links to her story. |
