ITIN So

Dear TaxMama:

I just received my ITIN number that I have been waiting for forever. Well tax cut-off time is over and I wanted to see if there's a chance I can still file taxes.

I didn't make that much. It was like $7,000 but I don't know if it's worth filing my taxes.

I was hoping to get my ITIN so my husband can put me on as well but I received it late.

So any help with this issue?

Elizabeth

TaxMama Replies

Dear Elizabeth,

Didn't your husband put his tax return on extension?

If not, if he's already filed, file an amended return, including your income and information.

Since you're not really experienced with it, please go to a competent, local tax professional and have them prepare it for you, this time.

Next year, you won't need it.

Best wishes,

Eva Rosenberg
