Dear TaxMama:

I recieved OWF (Ohio Work Force) check for several months during a high risk pregnancy.

Do I need to pay taxes on that?

How do I got about it if so?

Emily

TaxMama Replies

Hi Emily,

Give them a quick call to find out how they coded the payments to you.

Typically, if you were being paid for disability, the money is not taxable.

If they treated it as unemployment income, you would be taxed.

I suspect you were considered to be out on disability.

So, the money's all free and clear.

I hope you and the baby are fine?

Best wishes,

Eva Rosenberg
