Dear TaxMama:

The new 30% depreciation allowance:

Does the property have to be new property, or only new to me?

Karen

TaxMama Replies
Dear Karen,

You may only take bonus depreciation on new property. You must be the first to use it.

If you're buying used property, you may use Sec 179 depreciation, up to the maximum limits.

Best wishes,
