Dear TaxMama,

I have not filed in three years, but know based on my income and deductions that I woud have recieved a return.

I am filing this year, and would like to know if I will still be in trouble even though I have never owed anything extra.

HELP!

Joanna
TaxMama Replies
Dear Joanna,

FILE NOW!

Not because you'll be in trouble.

But, because, if you have refunds due to you and you file more than 3 years after the due date, you'll LOSE those refunds.

I hate to see IRS keep any money you're entitled to have.

But don't worry about trouble. If you have refunds coming, you won't face any other penalties or actions.

Good luck.

Best wishes
