» From: Hutchins, TX Dear TaxMama, Didn't the government recently pass a law stopping repayment of Social Securities (2 for every 1 dollar earned). Wasn't this stopped? Pat ![]() What is your real question? Is someone having a problem? The law that was passed was to remove the earnings limit for those between ages 65-72, effective (I believe) as of January 1, 2000. Now they can work and draw Social Security benefits without having to pay them back. Anyone who drew SS before that and earned over the limits, sadly, is still subject to repayments.
